These podcasts are the result of a full-day hands-on workshop this past June for Meyer grantees, facilitated by Margot Friedman, principal of Dupont Circle Communications, a full-service communications firm that specializes in opinion editorial writing for nonprofits. Ms. Friedman has ghostwritten op eds that have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek’s My Turn, and Huffington Post. The content of the June 2010 workshop is broken down here into individual podcasts that discuss the op-ed writing process, from identifying audiences and coming up with a good topic, to writing effective leads, structuring an op ed, and pitching your op-ed.
