Amy K. Harbison

Director of Communications

Amy K. Harbison serves as the director of communications for the Meyer Foundation, providing strategic direction on areas such as major initiatives, printed materials, Web site, and media relations efforts. She has over twenty years' experience working in strategic communications, media relations, marketing, branding, creative direction, and copywriting in the nonprofit sector, primarily in arts and health areas. Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Harbison was associate director of communications for the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland. Prior positions also include Director of Marketing and Communications for the Olney Theatre Center for the Arts and Director of Operations for the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association in Rockville. She earned a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Kenyon College and has completed graduate courses in marketing and management. She is serving a three-year term on the Kenyon College Alumni Council and is a founding member of the Olney Farmers and Artists Market. She serves on the advisory committee for the Foundation Center, the Arts and Humanities Working Group for Washington Grantmakers, and  the Booz Allen Nonprofit Conference Committee. She is a proud member of the Leadership Greater Washington class of 2010.
